Transmuting The Symbols Of Fear Into Love | Symbolism is the Language of the Mysteries

Symbolism is a powerful tool for building knowledge and exploring ourselves, because it allows us to receive deep intuitive meanings, generated from the unconscious all seeing mind.

As Manly states, "it is the language of the mysteries" because a mystery is unknown, that part of us which is conditioned and molded by way of experience itself. The 7th Principle of Natural Law is Gender, within the mind this manifests as our masculine principle of conscious attention or focus while the feminine principle of the unconscious: the hidden, grounded or unactualized totality of our experience. The process of looking at symbols is used in many spiritual traditions because it creates a focal point for that which is unseen deep within, allowing it blossom into a bonafide experience, producing sensations, intuitions and feelings. This data reveals our past choices and programing (both good and bad), how we have chosen to understand our experiences. It is a process of divination, knowing thyself, the first step towards self empowerment and mastery.

In truth, the whole of reality itself is symbolic. Words, whether written or spoken, are symbols for ideas, becoming crystallized over time, if we do not consciously reprogram or purify them. We can not avoid being programed, but if we do not becoming the programer, we will be programed by another.

Generally we ascribe specific meanings to our experiences unconsciously, which becomes automatic or unconscious. Part of the tradition of self mastery is to take what has become automatic within us, and focus our minds on it so we can expand and transmute the meanings generated in the past. The truth seeker does this by following the truth wherever it leads, bravely seeking to reconcile all their knowledge into a holistic reflection of what IS.

In this sense, there are no true absolute meanings, because meaning requires a point of view, an observer or mind to assemble the objective relationships in reality, into a feeling, intuition or idea. When we lose the ability to consciously create meanings, based on logic that 'makes sense', to transmute the past thoughts into a more accurate truths, we fall into duality, never leaving the checkerboard floor of black and white meanings, ideas and perceptions.

Since words, symbols and even thoughts are symbolic, if we never focus our conscious mind on them, they stay the same, creating an experience of victimization. For example, the media uses subliminal images, suggestions and 'loaded statements' to incept meanings into our minds. When encounter them in our experience we feel the meaning as an emotion. The word terrorist has become infused with paralyzing fear, and now with that meaning firmly grounded, they can conceivably label anyone a terrorist and incite a powerful reaction.

The slow and steady accumulation of fearful meanings in humanity keeps us locked into a type of permanent Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. And these meanings have become so pandemic, they could even be thought of as an AI program. Consider the idea that our bodies are disgusting things, and even the most natural functions are abhorrent? This is exactly how the vast majority of the population views themselves, although it is never consciously acknowledge this way, that our bodies are vile disgusting things, which must be sanitized and separated from 'dirty nature.'

When our consciousness has become automatic, we are at the mercy of our emotions and past choices, fearing life itself. Conversely, when we seek the truth, and bravely face our fears, they melt away as the truth expands and infuses them. As such, if any idea, belief or concept causes a reaction of fear or disgust, it is the Universe's way of say you can transmute this. Hence the mystery school adage that emotions are our compass for self mastery and evolution.

Personal Note: I became acutely aware of the meaning programs in society when I discovered Urine Therapy. We are trained to think Urine is a waste and anything associated to it is 'gross.' But from a scientific perspective there is nothing toxic or bad about it, and is actually an amazing beneficial substance which the medical and drug industry spends billions trying to reproduce.

This meaning was not arrived at by a rational through process, it was developed by unconscious programing. I spent 2 months researching information, learning what Urine actually is and how our bodies truly worked. And in the process transmuted this unconscious fearful meaning, into a conscious loving or empowering experience. I used to get sick to my stomach going into bathrooms, and now it doesn't bother me at all, because I no longer fear something that can not harm me.

When we are brave enough to face our fears, at ALL levels, our suffering can be transmuted to pleasure, and all the things in life which seem horrific and beyond our control, are changed because we have changed and grown within.

By Manly P. Hall - Symbolism is the language of the Mysteries; in fact it is the language not only of mysticism and philosophy but of all Nature, for every law and power active in universal procedure is manifested to the limited sense perceptions of man through the medium of symbol.

Every form existing in the diversified sphere of being is symbolic of the divine activity by which it is produced. By symbols men have ever sought to communicate to each other those thoughts which transcend the limitations of language.

Rejecting man-conceived dialects as inadequate and unworthy to perpetuate divine ideas, the Mysteries thus chose symbolism as a more ingenious and ideal method of preserving their transcendental knowledge.

In a single figure a symbol may both reveal and conceal, for to the wise the subject of the symbol is obvious, while to the ignorant the figure remains inscrutable.

Hence, he who seeks to unveil the secret doctrine of antiquity must search for that doctrine not upon the open pages of books which might fall into the hands of the unworthy but in the place where it was originally concealed.
